alongside the two (orphaned) Kelly boys and her sister Ida.
One day enraged that the boys were allowed to do something
that she was not because she was a girl. She put on some
trousers and a flat cap and declared that her name was
"Billy Collins" (Billy Collins was the name of someone doing
some painting in the house at the time. She was known as
Billy or Billie ever after.
